Since you already know how to change the oil in your vehicle, the next question is, what do you do with the old oil? You should never throw it in the ground or drain it in the sink because of the harmful content of engine oils. You know what they said in “Finding Nemo”, “Alll drains lead to the ocean.” You also shouldn’t just throw the used oil in the garbage shoot or bin for the same reasons.

So, what do you do with the used oil? You should store the used oil in clean, sealed plastic containers and have them recycled. Most auto shops and repair shops accept used oil and recyle them. Check in your locality if you do have such centers. If not, look online or through your phone book for shops that do. You can also ask your local officials for more information about centers that have them.

So, don’t just throw your old oil away. Recycle it and help protect the environment.
