Here we outline the way to rotate the tires on your Impala. The recommended distance traveled is 7,500 miles. This means that after every 7,500 miles, you need to rotate the tires on your car.
Why rotate the tires? This is so that all the tires get to experience being in the place of each other. You know what they say, being in another person’s shoes. It helps the personal growth and character of the tires. Of course we’re just joking about that part. The real reason is to make sure all tires get the same amount of wear. This makes your wheels last longer; and also improves your vehicle handling. This is because wear especially on the front tires is more intense compared to the rear tires. And so, to give the front tires a break, let the rear tires take their place, and vice versa.
By the way, for the Impala, you don’t include the compact spare tire in the rotation. That spare tire is for emergency purposes only. It’s not designed to be used like your standard, everyday tire.
Just refer to the image to know the rotation order:
If you know how to remove the tire, then you can do this procedure. Only, you would need jackstands for this. You need to prop up your car on four jackstands to rotate the tires properly.
Now, this is how it is for most vehicles, but be sure to check your vehicle’s owner’s manual first. You can never tell when there’s a special procedure for your vehicle.
