Things to do before you crank up that engine

Living the life of today means living life in the fast lane; everything nowadays seem to be in haste. Days are going on so fast that sometimes, we forget that we need to do some important checks before we go and drive down to wherever we are headed for the work week. Us forgetting about these simple yet very important checks could leave our cars damaged which is a headache, given the soaring prices of parts and repair services. Avoid these expensive repairs that give us headaches. Here is a check list of things to check before you go and start cranking up that engine.

- Engine oil level – Though we have engine oil warning indicator lamps, it is important that we get to monitor if the car’s engine is burning oil as well. Most of the problems on the engine’s internal components could somehow be detected here so it’s important that we maintain the right amount of oil in our car’s engines.

- Engine coolant level – Another very vital thing to check. Make sure that the radiator and the coolant overflow reservoir are full (if not at an acceptable amount) of coolant. Never let the coolant level of your car get lower than what’s required. This lessens the efficiency of the cooling system which could result to overheating in extreme conditions.

- Washer fluid level – This though may seem trivial for a lot of people, having enough washer fluid is always handy especially in situations when we would suddenly need the windshield washers at work.

- Brake and clutch fluid levels – This is another example of the important things that are often overlooked. These are very important fluids as th

ey are major players in making the car move and stop. If any of them would lose that very important clutch or brake fluids, chaos seems to be just around the corner.

So make sure that you get to do checks on the things I’ve mentioned above at least once a week. Be on top of what’s going on in your car before you hit the road. So you can enjoy worry-free and fun trips each and every time.
